I know, I know, a lot of people say that I need to get out more and have a "normal" life! But this little dog has brought so much joy, frustration, laughter, challenge, and love to my life..... that this feels normal for me!
I first learned about Tigger through an email. He was in a foster home looking for his final destination. I spent an hour playing with him and talking to his foster mom, but the decision was still a struggle. I knew it wouldn't be easy keeping this bundle of energy and intelligence out of trouble, and that it was going to take a lot of work on my part!
Tigger came to live with me as his forever home right after Thanksgiving, 2005. He is constantly challenging me and loves to learn. He keeps me on my toes! Tigger has been my constant companion since he arrived. I'm so grateful that somehow this creature found his way to me.
I named him "Tigger" because Pooh's Tigger is described as having a "contagious enthusiam for life," and, of course, because he's so bouncy.
His nickname is "little monkey." He's a picky eater at times. He demands alot of interaction. And he loves nothing better than to be chased by a human.
My goals for Tigger are to keep him healthy and happy! (and hopefully out of trouble)

Update: Fall of 2008
Tigger and I are celebrating 3 years together this Thanksgiving. What a joy and challenge he has been. As we all suspected at the beginning, Tigger is one of the most intelligent dogs ever! We've been through countless training classes, and he continuously wows us all. He now has two doggie sisters and two goat brothers, and even though he's the smallest of the lot, he rules them all. And I continue to adore him.
"A beautiful new 256 page book with informative full color photos on almost every page, Citizen CANINE goes way beyond the basic 10 steps of the Canine Good Citizen Test. A perfect manual for training classes, renters, landlords, Condo Associations...almost every library needs this one! Outstanding job of putting it all together in a compact, easy to understand format for a very reasonable price."
Tigger's trainer invited him and his canine sister Ginger to participate in the photograph submissions for this book. We were thrilled to see that 3 photos of Tigger and 1 photo of Ginger were used in the final product. I'm so proud of these kids!!
